The title is a quotation from Fitzgerald’s novel that lent its name to the work. The lithograph depicts passion breaking out in a human life and changing one’s destiny. The central figure of a seductive woman attracts glances, allures like the light of the night-lamp placed at her feet. Passion is blind. Fragile butterflies know nothing about the destructive power of fire. The lithograph “Tender is the night” is a prizewinner of the 7th Kochi International Triennial of Printmaking (Japan).
