The plot of the work is given in its poetic title. A haiku is a traditional Japanese poem of three lines, in this case, about love and death. The aesthetics of the Eastern worldview lies in contemplativeness, love of nature and selflessness transmitted to the world. The girl calmly accepts death, like a defeated warrior, because life without a loved one is unthinkable for her. When she dies, she becomes a part of the great tradition, eternal nature, autumn that paints leaves blood-red. The lithograph "Red leaves. Autumn. He's gone" is in the collection of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus.
